Today is Sunday
It’s Sunday today.
Mothers all over the world (well, at least in the same time zone) are now wondering whether it is more exhausting being at home or at work. You go to work to look forward to coming home. You stay at home to look forward to going back to work.
The bathroom has not been cleaned.
The toilet has not been scrubbed.
The floors have not been mopped.
Our beautiful girl seems to have developed a stutter that is undermining her confidence.
A usual weekend really.

This weekend we have seen:
two of my husband’s older girls for dinner (this is a pretty special thing)
an extra swimming lesson for the Squid
a sneaky swim in next door’s pool (with permission, I swear)
afternoon tea at a friend’s new house
missed a good friend’s Saturday night party - Squid, you have changed so many things
a very late night internetting for Christmas presents
an endless variety of meals and associated clean-ups
some clothes washed
some beds made
ironing done
a work function missed
a happy time watching our Squid trying to speak Spanish (courtesy of Dora the Explorer) as she jumped on the dodgy trampoline
a near miss from door-to-door religious representatives of some sort.
Exhausted.
